Mariah Carey has announced that is pregnant with her first child . The Grammy winner and her husband, the host of "America's Got Talent " and rapper Nick Cannon, made the announcement in an interview broadcast on the Today Show on NBC. "Yes, we are expecting a child, it is true. It is still early, we're waiting for spring (northern hemisphere)," Carey said confirming rumors that had circulated for several months.
"It's been a long journey, but it was hard because I've been trying to maintain some privacy and that is not easy," said Carey, who also revealed she lost a baby shortly after her marriage to Cannon in 2008.
Carey will release their thirteenth album, "Merry Christmas II You " next week. During his 20 year career, the singer has sold over 200 million albums, singles, and videos, and has had 18 songs in the top U.S..
